We get up to all sorts here! This was slightly out of our comfort zone – but hey we are game.
However the good news is that you don’t have to go to those lengths to have a go on the wheel! You can learn to throw your own pot on most Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons and some Sundays. Be yourself - bring your best mate and have some fun. The £25 fee covers all materials and a second session to come and paint your creations.
We have been exploring the wonderful world of online scrapbooking with Pinterest. Follow ‘The Painting Pottery Café Brighton’ and you will discover a wealth of ceramic inspiration to get you bursting with ideas for your next visit. Don’t forget, if you find something you really love: you can pin it, print it, bring it along and we will show you how to trace it straight onto your pottery.
We will be adding more fabulous images so keep checking in.
Come and join us for our family pottery sessions on Wednesday afternoons throughout the summer. You will learn to throw a pot on the wheel, slab-build or coil, and if you sign up for a full three week course you can embark on an exciting ongoing project of your own choosing.
Family workshops are suitable for kids, Mums and Dads, older siblings, and Gran and Grandad too! A great way to spend time together while learning something new, getting a bit messy, and having a lot of fun.
The workshops are £37.50 per person if signing up for 3 weeks, or £15 per person for one week only, and includes all materials. Items will be fired and ready to collect 2-3 weeks from completion.
Workshops commence on the 30th of July at 3pm.
Just give us a call on 01273 628952 or email us to book your place and pay your fee. Places are limited.
Our latest exhibition in our Cafe Gallery provides some great flavours of Brighton. Nicole’s work reflects the complexity of the modern urban city. She uses photographic layers, computer graphics, illustration and collage to achieve her artistic impressions.
Whether you are a keen photographer or you would like to paint an original memento of Brighton, Nicole’s images will definitely inspire.
Come and see her canvases and prints from now til the end of July.
Check out her website for more information.
