KIDS SCHOOL HOLIDAY TASTER THROWING

Strictly for 8 - 12 year olds.

We’re running a couple of special taster throwing sessions for children aged 8 - 12 years. (Our usual weekly taster throwing sessions are for 12 ages and up so this is perfect if you have a younger child keen to get stuck into clay before they turn 12!)

Option 1: £20 per child, includes making one pot, and having it clear glazed shiny white ready to collect a few weeks later.

Option 2: £25 per child, includes making one pot, and the chance to return a couple of weeks later to paint it. (an extra £5 per painter will be applied on top of this £25 if you book in to paint during ‘peak’ times which are weekends or school holidays - to avoid peak times we suggest an after school painting session from 3:30pm or 4pm on a weekday!)

Your kids will be taught the basics of throwing by one of our potters and then have a chance to give it a whirl themselves, having a go on the potters’ wheel. The session will last approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour if fully booked. Book now as spaces are limited to only 5 children per session! They will also receive a certificate to award them their pottery mastery.

Adult supervision is essential. Payment is taken on booking, with a strict 48hr cancelation policy. We ask you respect our age policy and do not book in children under 8 years old.

Glazing and firing your thrown pots.

Please be aware that sometimes clay fired items can break or at worse explode in the kiln. We try to control for these events but it is not always possible. It is the charm but also the frustration of working with ceramics, so we encourage you to remind your children to embrace any wobbles or small imperfections in their pot/s. We cannot offer refunds for this but will offer them something of ours as a replacement if their piece is no longer fit to function.
