Children’s Parties

Children of all ages love the opportunity for creative play. Designing and painting their very own piece of pottery provides the perfect opportunity for them to express themselves, creating a beautiful souvenir they can use forever.

Parents love it too, because we do all the cleaning up afterwards!

You’ll find us in the heart of Brighton’s North Laines – just a 10 minute walk from the train station, or 15 minutes from the pier. We don’t have onsite parking; however we are surrounded by private car parks. There is also a loading bay opposite (outside of John Edwards hair Salon) that is perfect for dropping off and picking up.

You can’t miss our purple and green exterior, but in case you do here’s a map.

Fancy taking a peak around before you arrive? Take a look at our virtual tour.  Groups of 9+ are generally seated downstairs.

What to expect:

When you arrive your party host will guide the children through the process of creating their masterpiece, explaining how the materials work (they’re much cooler than normal paints!)

Your party host will fill the children full of inspiration, with bundles of tips and tricks on design and painting their piece. They will be close by throughout your party to host and answer any questions.

Pottery is glazed and fired after your party, ready for you to collect at a later date.

Glazing and firing your painted pottery.

We try our best to ensure that the creative journey you take with us is fun and enjoyable.  The final part of the journey involves the glazing and firing of your pottery.  Sadly this is not an exact science and the kiln is sometimes unpredictable.  While we strive for perfection it doesn’t happen all the time particularly as these are hand produced crafts.
Glaze spotting can occur as well as things like brick dust on the items.  So please be aware that although we try to control for these events it is not always possible.  It can be the charm but also the frustration of working with ceramics.
Sometimes, if we feel it is safe to do so, we will re-fire the pottery to try to fix glazing issues.
In the exceptional event of your pottery breaking or cracking in the kiln we will offer compensation by way of a replacement voucher.

Glazing and firing your thrown pots.

Please be aware that sometimes clay fired items can break or at worse explode in the kiln.  We try to control for these events but it is not always possible.  It is the charm but also the frustration of working with ceramics.
